Breaking News for Brighton’s Royal Alex
Planning permission to include the beautiful C19 building in the new development has been GRANTED.
The Royal Alexander Children’s Hospital’s future has been touch and go for some time. The alternative proposal to demolish the exisiting building has been withdrawn by developer Taylor Wimpey and permission to adapt the site granted this week.
The news hit national headlines as the Victorian Society comments ‘It is right that its distinctive red brick and terracotta façade should be the focus of this new development’
BH2010/03379: Planning permission for conversion of the main hospital building to provide 20 flats, demolition of all other buildings, replaced by a new development of 101 flats, including 15 ‘affordable’ flats’ HAS BEEN GRANTED.
